NopoX - Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to NopoX ("we," "our," or "us"), developed by Plan Productive. NopoX is a freemium application designed to help you block adult content, limit distracting apps, and improve your digital wellbeing.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

2. No Logging of Browsing or App Usage Activity

🔒 Privacy First: NopoX never stores, logs, or records any of your browsing activity or app usage activity (such as the specific websites you visit or the content of your screen).

All permissions granted to the app (including Accessibility Services and System Alert Window) are used exclusively in real-time to detect and block content according to your selected preferences. We do not capture, record, or store screen content, browsing history, URLs, or details of the apps you use.

To provide core app functionality, certain non-content data is stored:

  • App settings and preferences
  • Streak history and usage counters
  • Blocked keyword lists and configuration data

This information is stored locally on your device and/or securely on our servers solely to operate app features. This non-content data cannot be used to reconstruct your browsing behavior or screen activity.

3. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Information: When you use features like Firebase Authentication, we may collect your name, email address, and User IDs to manage your account.
  • Financial Information (Purchase History): If you purchase a premium subscription, we collect your purchase history through Google Play Billing. This is used strictly for account management, verifying your subscription status, and providing access to premium features. We do not collect or store your credit card or bank details; these are handled securely by Google Play.
  • Accountability Partner Data: To enable the Accountability Partner feature, you provide the email address of a trusted friend or family member. We use this exclusively to send them reports regarding your app activity (such as uninstall attempts or protection disable events).
  • In-App Search History: When you search for specific features or settings within NopoX, we collect the search query via Firebase Analytics to understand which features are most important to our users.
  • Customer Support: If you contact us at nopoxtech@gmail.com, we collect the information you provide to resolve your query.

B. Information Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: We collect device identifiers (such as Android ID or AD_ID), operating system version, and device model to ensure app compatibility and for analytics.
  • Usage Data & Diagnostics: We use tools like Amplitude and Firebase Analytics to understand how you interact with the app (e.g., which screens you visit, button clicks) and Diagnostics (such as app load times and performance data) to improve user experience.
  • Crash Logs: If the app malfunctions, we collect crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics to fix technical issues.

4. Permissions and Sensitive Data

To provide its core blocking features, NopoX requires specific Android permissions. Here is how we use them:

🛡️ Accessibility Service (BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE)

  • Purpose: This is essential for the "Content Blocking" and "Protective Mode" features. It allows the app to detect adult content on your screen or in your browser URL bar in real-time.
  • Privacy: This permission is used exclusively to detect and block content according to your settings. We do not use it to collect personal data or store your screen content. All processing of screen content via Accessibility Services occurs locally on your device; no screen data is ever transmitted to or stored on our servers.

🔐 Device Admin (BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN)

  • Purpose: This permission is required for the "Uninstall Protection" feature.
  • Privacy: It is used strictly to prevent the app from being uninstalled without authorization (e.g., from your Accountability Partner). It grants no other administrative control over your device.

📱 System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

  • Purpose: Used to display a "Blocked" overlay screen over restricted content or apps.

📦 Installed Apps (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)

  • Purpose: Required to list your installed applications so you can select which ones to block or limit usage for.
  • Privacy: It is used solely to allow users to view and select installed apps for blocking or limiting functionality. This data is not shared with third parties for advertising or profiling.

📂 Files and Documents (Storage Access)

  • Purpose: NopoX allows you to Import and Export your blocked keywords.
  • Usage: To use this feature, the app accesses your device's Download folder to save exported lists or read keyword files you wish to import into the app's internal database (Room DB).
  • Privacy: We only access files related to your blocked keyword lists. We do not access, store, or share your personal photos, videos, or other private documents.

5. Third-Party Services and SDKs

We use trusted third-party services to improve our app's functionality and sustainability. These services may collect and process data according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them:

🔥
Firebase (Google) — Used for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and database storage.
📊
Amplitude — Used for analyzing user behavior and product improvements.
📢
Google Ads and AdMob — Personalized advertising.
User Messaging Platform (UMP) — Used to obtain explicit consent for personalized ads.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

  • Core Functionality: To block unwanted content, track your streak, and enforce app limits.
  • Accountability: To notify your partner if you attempt to uninstall the app or disable protections.
  • Improvement: To analyze usage trends and fix bugs using crash logs.
  • Advertising: To show personalized or non-personalized ads (depending on your consent) to support the free version of the app. We do not control the specific ads shown. Advertisements are served by Google AdMob and are subject to Google's ad policies. We do not intentionally allow ads containing adult or inappropriate content.

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

  • Accountability Partners: If you opt-in, we share specific activity alerts (e.g., "App Uninstalled") with your designated partner.
  • Advertising and Marketing Partners: We share device identifiers (such as Android ID or AD_ID), In-app search history, and App interactions with third-party advertising networks (like Google AdMob). This information is used to show, personalize, and measure the effectiveness of advertisements within the free version of the app.
  • Analytics and Service Providers: We share data with trusted service providers (such as Google Firebase and Amplitude) to facilitate app functionality. This includes sharing User IDs, Email addresses, and Crash logs for account authentication, secure hosting, performance monitoring, and analyzing how users interact with the app.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order).
  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal data to third parties for monetary gain.

8. International Data Transfer

  • Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.
  • As we use services like Google Firebase and Amplitude, your data is primarily processed and stored in the United States. By using NopoX and providing your information, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Retention: We retain your data (such as your streak history or settings) for the duration of your active account. If an account remains inactive for 24 months, we reserve the right to delete associated data.
  • Deletion: You have the right to request the complete deletion of your account and associated data. You can easily submit a request through our Account Deletion Form or by contacting us at nopoxtech@gmail.com. Once verified, your data will be permanently removed from our systems.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, VCDPA), you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Deletion: Request the permanent removal of your data.
  • Opt-Out: Opt-out of personalized advertising via your device settings or the in-app consent manager (UMP).

11. Children's Privacy

NopoX includes features that can be used as Parental Controls. However, the app is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 without parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.

12. Security

We value your trust and use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, including secure connections (HTTPS) for data transfer. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
